History & Description of the Academy

The Children's Creative and Performing Arts Academy was founded in June 1981 in Pacific Beach. The Campus population is approximately 350 students, with a diversity of backgrounds and interests.

Students come to CCPAA from all corners of San Diego County. We have students from Escondido, Otay Mesa, La Jolla, Jamul and Ramona. International students enjoy a special place here, as well. Representatives from such countries as Japan, China, Germany and Israel can be found in all divisions.

Stellar athletics. These are some of the integral parts of The Northwest School. Set in an urban campus that is housed in an historic landmark cared for by our students, we provide a curriculum for grades 6–12 that offers an international perspective and encourages independent and creative thinking in every class. We educate and shape our students into global citizens who will one day shape our community, nation, and world.
