Scholarship Description: The Leo Baeck Institute London is pleased to offer a 3-year John A. S. Grenville studentship for an outstanding doctoral candidate wishing to pursue a research project in the field of German Jewish history and culture with a focus on the late 19th and 20th centuries. Applications are invited from current and prospective graduates with an excellent academic track record. Potential fields of investigation are: Jewish intellectual history (19th – 20th centuries), Modern German-Jewish history (20th century) and Jewish cultural history (20th century). The studentship is named after John A. S. Grenville (1928-2011), an eminent scholar of modern world history and German Jewish history.

- Duration of award(s): This PhD studentship is awarded for duration of three years.
- What does it cover? The studentship amounts to £24,000 per year, from which tuition fees (2014/15 Home/EU students: £3,996 full-time/ £1,998 part-time and non-EU/overseas students: £12,600 full-time/ £6,300 part-time) must be paid.
