Chevening scholarships


Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations offer Chevening scholarships for masters’ students.  Scholarships are available to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. 90 Scholarships are awarded annually. These are prestigious and highly competitive awarded to citizens of any country outside the UK. Bill gates scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. The deadlines are as follows: Round 1 (US citizens based in the USA) – 15 October 2014 and Round 2 (all other eligible candidates) – 3 December 2014.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Master’s Courses in UK, 2015-2016  
 
Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC) in partnership with UK universities offers Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries. Shared Scholarships are usually tenable for one-year Master’s courses only. Candidates are recruited and selected by UK host universities in the first instance. Selection criteria include: the academic merit of the candidate, as well as the likely impact of their work on the development of their home country. The EAS will close to applicants on 16 April 2015 and no further applications can be submitted after that date.

Icelandic Government Scholarships for Foreign Students in Iceland, 2015-2016


Applications are invited for Icelandic Government Scholarships available for the period from September 1st 2015 to April 30th 2016. Approximately 15 scholarships will be awarded for students of modern Icelandic. Icelandic as a second language is comprised of both theoretical and practical fields of study. The scholarship covers registration fees at the University and a monthly stipend of approximately ISK 130.000 – that should cover room and board for one person, payable at the beginning of each month, September to April. A room will be available for rent in one of the University dormitory. The application deadline is February 1, 2015.

2015/2016 Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme for International Students in Hong Kong

Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong offers PhD Fellowship Scheme for international students in Hong Kong. More than 230 PhD Fellowships will be awarded in the 2015/2016 academic year. The Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$240,000 (approximately US$30,000) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year to each awardee for a period of up to three years. For awardees who need more than three years to complete their PhD studies, additional support may be provided by the chosen institutions. Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarship-IT4BI for EU and Non EU Students, 2015/2017


Applications are invited for Erasmus Mundus masters scholarships available for European students and Non European students. 2015 Commonwealth Medical Fellowships for Developing Commonwealth Countries’ Students, UK


UK Department for International Development (DFID) is inviting application for Medical fellowships available for  doctors and dentists from Developing Commonwealth Countries. These fellowships are for mid-career clinical staff to learn a new medical or dental skill, to practise the new medical or dental skill, and to network with others in the same and related specialties. Awards are tenable for between three months and six months at any approved UK University Hospital; experience suggests that a minimum of 4 months is sensible. World Citizen Talent Scholarships for Non-EEA Students in Netherlands, 2015-2016  


Hague University offers talent scholarships for international (Non-EEA) students. Students from Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or Surinam are also not eligible. 54 scholarships each worth EUR 5,000 are available to prospective bachelor degree students. International Ambassador Scholarships at University of West London in UK, 2015


University of West London is awarding up to 50 international ambassador scholarships worth up to £5,000 to commence study in January 2015. Dean’s International Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2015


2015 Scholarships are obtainable to undertake a research doctorate degree (PhD). Applicants must have achieved a GPA greater than 85 or an average A grade or have a relevant subject specific GPA of 90 or equivalent. These postgraduate research scholarships are awarded for three years subject to satisfactory progress, with a possible extension of up to a maximum of one year. Honjo International Scholarships for Graduate Students in Japan, 2015


Applications are invited for Honjo international scholarships available for foreign students to attend a graduate school at a Japanese university April 1, 2015. Up to 15 to 20 scholarships will be awarded. The period of the Honjo international scholarship is set in accordance with the shortest period of time required to complete the intended degree. Rhodes Scholarships for International Students 2015


Rhodes scholarships are awarded for pursuing full-time postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, UK. 83 Rhodes scholars are selected annually from 14 countries or groupings of countries around the world. The basic tenure of the Scholarship is two years, subject always, and at all times, to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct.

IWC Full Masters Scholarships for International Students 2015


Applications are invited for IWC scholarships available for high calibre international and domestic candidates. Up to 6 full scholarships will be awarded for enrolling in the Master of Integrated Water Management (MIWM) program at University of Queensland commencing in Semester 1, 2015. New Zealand Development Government Scholarships for International Students 2015


New Zealand Development Scholarships are well known scholarships which are awarded each year by New Zealand Government. The scholarships provide financial support for tuition, living costs while in New Zealand and airfares for the duration of the study programme. Up to 64 scholarships are available. Government scholarships for international students will be offered for the whole duration of the programme. Applicants must ensure that the institution receives the completed NZDS application form before the institution’s closing date which varies between 30th April and 1 June 2014.

Japanese Government Scholarships for International Students 2015


Applications are open for MEXT Research Scholarships available to international students for the academic year 2015. The term of scholarship will differ depending on the types of students as accepted in Japanese universities. Each grantee will be provided monthly with 143,000 yen (Research Students (non-regular students), 144,000yen (regular students in Master’s courses or professional graduate courses), or 145,000yen (regular students in doctoral courses). Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarships 2015


Each year Australian Government awards Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship for international students. The award provides financial support up to 2 years for a master’s and up to 4 years for a PhD. Recipients must commence their approved programme after 1st January 2015 but no later than 30th November 2015. Applications will close on 30th June 2014.

DAAD Scholarships for International Developing Countries 2015


DAAD, German Academic Exchange Service offers scholarships for developing countries students. These scholarships provide monthly installment of EUR 750.00. and also include the costs for health, accident and liability insurance in Germany and an adequate travelling allowance. The general closing dates for applications are 31st July, 2014, 31st August and 15st October (annually).

ISU Bocconi Scholarships in Italy, 2014-2015  


Applications are invited for Bocconi scholarships in Italy available for Italian students, EU-students and Non-EU students from Italian DPR n. 394 of 31 August 1999, enacting Italian D.Lgs. n. 286 of 25 July 1998. Total 520 scholarships will be awarded. Scholarships will be available for students who have been admitted as first-year enrollees at Bocconi or have submitted applications to the admissions test at Bocconi University, or have enrolled for the 2014-2015 academic year for a Bocconi University Bachelor, Integrated Master of Arts in Law, Master of Science or PhD program. Mexican Government Excellence Scholarship Program 2015


Mexican Government is offering excellence scholarship program for foreign students. The scholarships are not transferable and cannot be deferred to future years. Two people cannot be awarded a scholarship for the same project. All scholarship applications must be submitted to the Mexican or concurrent embassy of the applicant’s country or to the Mexican host institute. The application deadline is August 29, 2014.

UNESCO/People’s Republic of China Co-Sponsored Fellowships 2015


Fellowships are available for undertaking advanced studies at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Chinese universities. These UNESCO fellowships are of one year duration. The Chinese authorities will select the twenty-five (25) most qualified candidates. Applicants must hold at least the equivalent of the master’s degree/above or the bachelor’s degree. 2015 scholarships are provided in disciplines that are of special relevance for the social, political and economic development of applicant’s home country. A monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € will be awarded. Scholarships also provide health insurance, travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy. JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Overseas Researchers 2015


Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) annually awards postdoctoral fellowship to foreign researchers for a period of 12 to 24 months. All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are included under this program. For the 1st Recruitment (September 2014) approximately 120 fellowships will be granted. For the 2nd Recruitment (May 2015) approximately 120 fellowships will be granted. KAAD Scholarships for Developing Countries’ Students 2015


Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree or a PhD at a German university or do a postdoctoral research project (2-6 months for established university lecturers) at a German university. Applicants have to request through filling a questionnaire and sending it to the KAAD offices for applying to these scholarships. Applications to be tabled in the March-session of the selection board need to be complete by end of November the previous year. Applications for the September selection need to be complete by end of June.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2015


The Government of Canada offers PhD scholarships for Canadian and international students in Canada.  Scholarship is offered for three years. Each Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year. Students must be nominated by only one Canadian university, which must have received a Vanier CGS allocation. Oxford University is inviting application for graduate scholarships available for International students. Scholarship is also not open to applications from candidates who hold deferred offers to start in 2015-16. The scholarship will include 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £13,863). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. Humboldt Research Fellowships for Experienced Researchers in Germany, 2015


Applications are invited for Humboldt Research Fellowships available for experienced researchers to carry out a long-term research project (6-18 months) at a research institution in Germany. Approximately 500 research fellowships are awarded. Scientists and scholars of all nationalities and disciplines may apply. Victoria University of Wellington is offering doctoral scholarships for New Zealand and international students in any discipline. Total 35 scholarships are available and awarded on academic merit basis.
